Montessori-Based Approach

Both the Montessori philosophy and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum emphasise the importance of the unique child, developing positive relationships and having an enabling environment.  As such the Montessori approach works hand in hand with the EYFS to develop the whole child as confident, independent, and creative learners.  We aim to foster a love for life-long learning from an early age through a broad and balanced curriculum, within a safe and stimulating environment.   

​Mandarin-English Immersion Bilingual Programme


Our Mandarin-English Immersion Bilingual the Early Year Foundation Stage curriculum is delivered through both English and Mandarin, using the One Person One Language (OPOL) approach. We integrate native English speakers and Mandarin Chinese speakers in the same class, delivering an exciting curriculum in both languages for all children.  Children develop proficiency in both Mandarin and English by hearing and using both languages to learn academic content rather than only studying the language itself.   


Over five decades of studies consistently show that children in immersion programmes score as well as or better than non-immersion pupils on standardised measures of verbal and mathematics skills administered in English.  Furthermore, studies show that young learners, benefit cognitively, exhibiting greater nonverbal problem-solving abilities and more flexible thinking than their peers who learn only one language.  Our programme, therefore, aims to provide an academically rigorous learning experience through a unique blend of Chinese and British cultures and values that promotes an ethos of hard work, resilience, and respect, and a head start in developing an internationally minded outlook, a flexible mind and an approach to life that will better prepare them to meet the challenges and demands of a fast-changing and increasingly global world.
